【摘要】:Moistureisaubiquitousandvariablecomponentofanybiomasssample.Moistureisnotconsideredastructuralcomponentofbiomassandcanchangewithstorageandhandlingofbiomasssamples.Thedeterminationofthetotalsolidscontentallowsforthecorrectionofbiomasssamplestoanoven-driedsolidsmassthatisconstantforaparticularsample.Thisprocedureisnotsuitableforbiomasssamplesthatvisiblychangeonheatingto105x00B0;C,forexample,unwashedacid-pretreatedbiomassstillcontainingfreeacid.SomematerialsthatcontainlargeamountoffreesugarsorproteinswillcaramelizeorbrownunderdirectinfraredheatingelementsusedinTestMethodB.TotalsolidsinthesematerialsshouldbedonebyTestMethodA.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountoftotalsolidsremainingafterdryingasample.MaterialssuitableforthisprocedureincludesamplespreparedinaccordancewithPracticeE1757andextractive-freematerialpreparedinaccordancewithTestMethodE1690.Forparticulatewoodfuels,TestMethodE871shouldbeused.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
